The XmlDaClientSDK assembly is referenced in place of the web service reference. The web service proxy stub methods are part of the XmlDAClientSDK assembly.

XmlDAClientSDK provides additional helper methods to simplify the server access and offers detailed context sensitive help with most information of the XML-DA specification.

The XML-DA client references the XMLDA.NET assembly in place of the web service reference.
Depending on the URL:
- the XML-DA server is accessed
- the call is wrapped to the OPC DA interface and the OPC DA server is accessed through DCOM.

Using the XML-DA Server Toolkit XML-DA servers can be built by only developing a simple .Net customization assembly.

OPC XML-DA .NET Server
	Implemented as an ASP.NET Web Service
	Customization in a separate .NET Assembly that can be programmed with VB.Net, C# or any .NET supported compiler. The OPC XML server uses the same customization component interface as the OPCDA.NET server, making it possible to use the server customization component in XML and COM based servers.
	The project documentation is integrated into the Visual Studio help system and offers context sensitive help.
	Thanks to the free threaded server implementation the customization assembly can easily be debugged without OPC client interaction. For further testing the provided diagnostic client allows the user to interactively test each OPC server function.
